Clove to release an extended battery with kickstand for HTC slim HD2

British electronics e-tailer Clove followed Apple and outed a battery-kickstand for its slim HTC HD2 mobile. The new extended battery with kickstand doubles the 1,230mAh capacity of the default juice pack. The battery supported kickstand is available for pre-order in the UK and costs you only $55(£35) after a price dip from $85 and is most likely to be released in February by Clove.

Apple reports 50% jump in Q1 profit to $3.38 bn, doubles iPhone sales

Apple doubles its iPhone sales and registered a 50% jump in its profit in fiscal Q1 financial which ended on December 26th, whereas the Mac sales up 33%. The interesting thing to look at is, the iPod sales have seen a drop up to 8% when compared to its sales in the earlier year. Apple revenues stood at $15.68 billion with a 32% rise in revenue, according to consumer electronics report. On the whole, Apple showed a $3.38 billion profit in Q1 from $2.26 billion or $3.67 a share which was $2.50 a share in the last year. Vodafone offers iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G on its UK network

Vodafone offers the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G and is the latest UK carrier along with the O2, Orange and Tesco Mobile carriers. The Vodafone is selling the 16GB iPhone 3GS available for free on two-year contract which costs you about £45 ($73) per month, and a 32GB iPhone 3GS available for free on two-year contract which costs you about £75 ($122) per month. BillShrink comparison say Google Nexus One undercuts iPhone 3GS and DROID

Google Nexus One Coming To AT&T?

Though this is not confirmed, but the sources at Boy Genius say that there will be Google Nexus One on AT&T 3G compatible version. This seems to be a second unlocked model, while the Android based Smartphone is being locked to T-Mobile USA. As you all know, Nexus One has cleared the FCC testing and the specs are leaked couple of weeks ago. People at BGR say that, they would give up T-Mobile BlackBerry 9700 for a Google Nexus One when it is available. Wait for few more days, as the Nexus One is expected to launch on January 5, 2010.

Apple Countersues Nokia, says “Companies must compete by inventing their own technologies, not just by stealing ours”

Nokia had filed a lawsuit against Apple some time back in October in a U.S. District Court in Delaware stating that Apple had infringed over ten patents of them related to GSM, UMTS, wireless LAN standards, wireless data, speech coding, security and encryption. Ilkka Rahnasto, vice president of Legal & Intellectual Property at Nokia says that, “The basic principle in the mobile industry is that those companies who contribute in technology development to establish standards create intellectual property, which others then need to compensate for.” Also adds, “Apple is also expected to follow this principle. By refusing to agree appropriate terms for Nokia’s intellectual property, Apple is attempting to get a free ride on the back of Nokia’s innovation.” Read the rest of this entry »

Verizon – Motorola DROID to get an OTA firmware update to resolve photography woes

Motorola DROID users might feel relax now, as the Verizon is going to release an over-the-air (OTA) firmware update to relieve the users from repeated poor autofocus offered by camera for 24.5 days though it does well for the first 24.5 days. The update also enhances the voice call quality. The update is yet to be released by Verizon and hope it will reach the end users before the DROID unleashes its next phase of fuzz-autofocus.
