Broadcom Corporation, a provider of semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications has introduced its new ROM-based 65nm BCM2074x family of Bluetooth headset system-on-a-chip (SoC) solutions on Friday. It gives a sigh of relief for all of us, as you can charge the Bluetooth headsets five times faster than the current products and provides you with double talk time contrary to the present devices which offer less run time even after charging for long time, claims Broadcom. The most worthy feature is that, it provides 4 hours of talk-time after a 5-minute charge when compared with the older generation and competing technologies that can only deliver 30 minutes or less with the same charge.
The CMOS BCM2074x family headset is powered with new dynamic SmartAudio wind noise reduction algorithms, multi-language ‘voice-prompt’ technology and integrated fast-charging power innovations. Added to the above, it offers enhanced noise suppression capabilities which reduce background noise by 40% compared to existing noise cancellation technologies with the help of SmartAudio technology.
The Broadcom BCM2074x family of Bluetooth headset SoC solutions comes in three varieties, the Broadcom BCM20740 SoC (single microphone), the Broadcom BCM20741 SoC (single microphone with SmartAudio) and the Broadcom BCM20742 SoC (dual microphone with SmartAudio) are sampling to early access customers. But the price of the headsets is still not known yet. Will update you with the official information as soon as it is out.
